New Memoir Offers a Look Inside the Mind of a USAF Combat Special Missions Aviator in "Moon Child"
Veteran and debut author Anthony Dyer shares a raw, unfiltered journey through combat, trauma, and finding purpose after war.

Clovis, New Mexico - Anthony Dyer’s debut memoir, “Moon Child,” offers a gripping look inside the world of special operations aviation and the journey of healing after war.

“Moon Child: The Roots and Wings of a USAF Combat Special Missions” follows Anthony Dyer, a former USAF Combat Special Missions Aviator who spent over a decade flying high-risk missions in some of the world’s most dangerous war zones. He shares the harrowing details of his most dangerous operations, including the 2018 Jolly Green Rescue Mission of the Year, where split-second decisions meant the difference between life and death.

Raised in the mountains of North Carolina, Dyer carried his grit and courage from the battlefield into civilian life, where he faced a new fight with trauma, addiction, and the search for purpose. Now an author and mental health advocate, he channels that same resilience into helping others. His debut memoir, “Moon Child”, offers a powerful and honest look at war, recovery, and the unseen struggles many veterans endure.

“You can train for combat, but not for what comes after. Writing “Moon Child” helped me make sense of life after war, and I hope it helps others on their road to peace and purpose,” says Dyer.

What begins as a behind-the-scenes look at military life becomes a powerful story of healing, resilience, and faith. Told with honesty and dark humor, “Moon Child” gives voice to veterans and anyone who carries invisible wounds.

You can purchase your copy of “Moon Child” on Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
